Robert Mailhammer is a
Lecturer in Linguistics in the School of Humanities and
Communication Arts at the University of Western Sydney
and a Visiting Fellow at The Australian National
University, Canberra.
He received his Ph. D. in Language Theory and Applied
Linguistics within the International Doctoral Programme
in Linguistics LIPP at the University of Munich in 2007
with a dissertation on the Proto-Germanic strong verbs,
funded by doctoral grants from the German Merit
Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes) and
the University of Munich. As a postdoc at the University
of Melbourne in 2007 and at The Australian National
University (2009-2010), Robert re-initiated the
documentation of Amurdak, a language from Northern
Arnhem Land. He has also held posts in German and
English Linguistics at the University of Munich and at
the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt,
Germany, and until 2011 Robert was Assistant Professor
at Arizona State University.
